King Kranz Trying to Break Maiden in $125,000 Lost in the Fog Stakes
On Friday at Aqueduct, the featured race is the $125,000 Lost in the Fog Stakes. Restricted to newly-turned three-year-olds, the six furlong contest has drawn a field of seven colts and geldings.
King Kranz has been tabbed as the morning line favorite at odds of 2-1 for trainer John Terranova, II. Purchased for $95,000 by Zayat Stables as a two-year-old, the dark bay son of Munnings will be trying for his first career victory and is a maiden from five starts. He has been on the board in four of those starts, two of which came against stakes competition. Cornelio Velasquez will be aboard and they will break from the outside post.
Condo King making stakes debut
Second choice at morning line odds of 5-2 is Condo King, one of two horses in the race for trainer Rudy Rodriguez. A bay son of Tizwonderful, he has been on the board in all three starts and will be stepping up to stakes competition for the first time. After two competitive efforts against maiden company, he broke through and notched his first win last time out. Ruben Silvera will be aboard from post position two.
Sallisaw heading in the right direction
Also in the field at morning line odds of 5-1 is Sallisaw for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. A bay son of Exchange Rate, he has hit the board in two of his four starts and will be trying for his first stakes victory. He broke his maiden at first asking and after two poor performances against graded stakes company, was second last time out in the King’s Swan Stakes. Junior Alvarado will be in the irons and they will break from post five.
