Legatissimo (IRE) the Favorite in Loaded $2 Million Filly and Mare Turf
On Saturday at Keeneland, the Breeder Cup action will continue with the $2 million Filly and Mare Turf. The Grade 1 will be contested at a mile and three-sixteenths on the turf and has attracted a full field of twelve with two additional listed as also-eligible.
Legatissimo (IRE) tops the international field as the morning line favorite at odds of 8-5 for trainer David Wachman. A bay daughter of Danehill Dancer (IRE), the three-year-old filly has been on the board in eight of her ten starts and is a five-time winner. She is coming into this race off of back to back victories against Group 1 company and will be competing with Lasix for the first time. Ryan Moore will be in the irons and they will break from post position three.
Miss France (IRE) looking for first win of the year
Second choice at morning line odds of 6-1 is Miss France (IRE) for trainer Andre Fabre. A four-year-old daughter of Dansili (GB), she has won three of her ten starts and was a Group 1 winner as a three-year-old in Europe. This year, she has been second in both starts and will be trying for her first victory this season. Frankie Dettori will be aboard and they will break from post nine as she makes her stateside debut.
Stephanie's Kitten the strongest U.S.-based horse
Also in the field at morning line odds of 10-1 is Stephanie’s Kitten for trainer Chad Brown. A homebred daughter of Kitten’s Joy for Ken and Sarah Ramsey, the six-year-old mare won the Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) in 2011 and has a total of ten victories. She was second in this race last year and was last seen winning the Flower Bowl Invitational (G1). Irad Ortiz, Jr. will be aboard from post eleven.
