Summer Hit Makes Third Appearance in $100,000 San Francisco Mile
Summer Hit has been tabbed as the favorite at morning line odds of 5-2 for the perennial powerhouse combination of trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and jockey Russell Baze. A six-year-old son of Bertrando, he has been second in the last two editions of this race and is an eleven-time career winner. He was second in an allowance race in his first start of the year and will be trying to earn his third graded stakes victory from post position six.
Edge of Reality heading towards breakthrough race
Second choice at 7-2 on the morning line is Edge of Reality for trainer Graham Motion. A five-year-old son of Lawyer Ron bred and owned by The Elkstone Group, he has won six of his twenty starts and was a graded stakes winner as a three-year-old. He has improved with each start this year and was last seen finishing second in the Santana Mile Stakes. Drayden Van Dyke will be aboard from the outside post.
Are You Kidding Me trying to fire off of the shelf
Also in the field at morning line odds of 4-1 is Are You Kidding Me for trainer Neil Drysdale. A five-year-old son of Run Away and Hide, he has won three of his seventeen outings including a graded stakes last year. He will be making his first start since finishing sixth in the Autumn Stakes (G2) in November and will have Brice Blanc in the irons from post position two as he returns off of the bench.
