Unspurned headlines the field as the heavy favorite at morning line odds of 4-5 for trainer Roger Attfield. A four-year-old daughter of Lemon Drop Kid, she has been on the board in nine of her twelve starts and is a four-time winner. She earned the first graded stakes victory of her career last time out with a one-length score in the Whimsical Stakes (G3) last time out. Alan Garcia will remain in the irons and they are scheduled to break from post position four.
Disco Barbie trying to return to competitive form
Second choice at 5-2 on the morning line is Disco Barbie for trainer Dale Capuano. A five-year-old daughter of Pure Prize, she has won five of her seventeen starts and will be trying to earn the first graded stakes victory of her career. She is trying to rebound after a ninth-place finish in the Barbara Fritchie (G2) and will switch back to synthetics. Patrick Husbands will be aboard and they will break from post position five.
Second start off of the bench for Checkered Past
Also in the field is the Canadian-bred mare, Checkered Past, at morning line odds of 8-1 for trainer Malcolm Pierce. A homebred daughter of Smart Strike for Sam-Son Farm, she has won four of her ten starts and will be trying to rebound after a ninth-place finish in her first start off of an eight-month layoff at Gulfstream Park. Eurico Da Silva will be aboard and they are slated to break from the rail as she goes for her first graded stakes win.
