West Coast Invader Seduire Tops Field for $200,000 Forward Gal
On Saturday at Gulfstream Park, some of the most promising three-year-old fillies in the country will compete in the $200,000 Forward Gal Stakes. The seven-furlong contest offers Grade 2 status and has drawn a field of eleven.
Seduire has been tabbed as the morning line favorite at odds of 5-2 for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. The gray daughter of Elusive Quality will be making her first start outside of California and has won four of her seven career outings. She comes into this race off of a two-race win streak and was last seen winning the Santa Ynez (G2) on the front end. Joel Rosario will be aboard for the first time and they are scheduled to break from post position five.
Enchantress making three-year-old debut
Todd Pletcher will saddle the second choice, Enchantress, at morning line odds of 3-1. Purchased for $950,000 as a juvenile, the bay daughter of Malibu Moon won two of her three starts as a juvenile. The lone blemish was a fifth-place finish as the favorite in the Tempted Stakes (G3). She has had a recent bullet workout in preparation for her sophomore debut and will have regular rider John Velazquez aboard from post position six.
Skipalute a maiden against stakes competition
Also in the field at morning line odds of 8-1 is Skipalute for trainer Eddie Kenneally. The black daughter of Midnight Lute is still a maiden from five starts but has been second four times, two of which came against graded stakes competition. She was second last time out behind Eclipse award winner Take Charge Brandi in the Delta Princess (G3). Javier Castellano will be aboard and they will break from the outside post.
